The Sidney City Schools is thrilled to announce that the Sidney Sports Complex Capital Campaign has achieved more than 70% funding, bringing the district significantly closer to realizing its vision for a revitalized soccer and track facility. The campaign continues to call upon community partners, alumni, parents, and local businesses to help close the remaining gap and deliver a facility that reflects the pride and spirit of Sidney.

“Every donation, large or small, moves us closer to giving our athletes, students, and fans a facility we can all be proud of,” said Director of Operations and committee member Mitch Hoying. “We’ve reached 71% of our $3.4 million goal thanks to the generosity of this community — now we need one final push to cross the finish line.”

What’s in the Plan
The proposed upgrades to the Sidney Sports Complex are extensive and designed with longevity, safety, and community in mind. Planned improvements include:

New multi-use field turf for the soccer field with markings to accommodate multiple sports
A brand-new track
Press box and locker rooms
Home-side and visitors’ bleachers
Modern LED lighting
Safety and aesthetic enhancements, including new fencing
These improvements are intended not just for high school teams but for all community members who use the facilities — from youth leagues to family events. The complex is where character is built, friendships are made, and community comes together. Sidney City Schools is committed to ensuring it is a space that is inclusive, accessible, and built to last.
