The Yellow Jackets delivered a strong opening performance on Saturday as they hosted the 2025 Jim McCracken Wrestling Invitational, finishing sixth overall with 112.5 team points. The tournament drew a highly competitive field, and Sidney rose to the challenge with six wrestlers earning spots on the podium.

Leading the way for the Jackets were Noah Laine and Dalton Davis, who each secured third-place finishes in their respective weight classes.

Laine battled through the 126-pound bracket to claim third, showing grit in a deep field.

Davis matched that effort wrestling up a weight class at 144 pounds, wrestling with consistency throughout the day.

At 190 pounds, Ethan Moore turned in a strong run to finish fourth, while Braylon Fisher mirrored that performance at 215 pounds, adding valuable team points with his podium finish.

Heavyweight JR Fisher also contributed to Sidney’s top-six team finish, earning fifth place at 285 pounds. Rounding out the group was Maleki Kelly, who placed sixth at 120 pounds, securing important points in the lower-weight brackets.

The Jackets’ balanced scoring across multiple classes highlighted the depth of the roster and the program’s continued growth. Sidney will look to build on this momentum as the season progresses.
