The Sidney Middle School wrestling team delivered a powerhouse performance over today, capturing the team championship at the Coldwater Holiday Invitational. The Yellow Jackets dominated the field with depth, toughness, and consistency, finishing with 220 team points to edge out Versailles, who placed second with 211.
Sidney put together a complete team effort with 15 wrestlers placing on the podium. Leading the charge were two individual champions, Cale Westerbeck and Brayden Bailey, who each battled their way through their brackets to bring home titles and anchor the Jackets’ scoring effort.
Beyond their champions, Sidney’s strong tournament showing reflected balance across the lineup. With contributions coming from nearly every weight class, the Yellow Jackets continuously racked up advancement and placement points, which ultimately made the difference in the tight team race.
