Sidney senior Katie McKinney is taking her game to the next level.
McKinney has officially signed to continue her soccer career at Thomas More University, capping off an outstanding high school journey defined by versatility, excellence, and leadership—both on the field and in the classroom.
A true multi-sport athlete, McKinney competed for Sidney in cross country, soccer, and track, showcasing not only her athletic range but also her work ethic across seasons. While she excelled in every sport she touched, the soccer field is where she made her biggest mark.
McKinney put together a stellar soccer career, earning First Team All–MVL honors and finishing at the top of the MVL in both goals scored and assists. Her combination of scoring ability, vision, and relentless effort made her one of the most dangerous and complete players in the league—and a constant challenge for opposing defenses.
Her success didn’t stop at athletics. In the classroom, McKinney maintained an impressive 4.3 GPA and was an active member of both the National Honor Society and Key Club, reflecting the same discipline and leadership that fueled her athletic success.
As she prepares to join the Thomas More University soccer program, McKinney brings with her a winning résumé built on talent, toughness, and character.
